Got it. My take on the altF version of painting with light.

Spent five minutes setting up and shooting, so it’s not perfect. But it was way too cold outside for perfection. Especially when your subject is a bear. However I intend to test and develop (ie have fun experimenting with) the technique at the next Muse session.

John Michael Cooper of altF fame recently posted about his daytime painting with light technique, or “Single Flash Multiple Frame.”
This is a close-up of a larger photo. As you can see, it’s very nice indeed. His images always are. Here he kept the sky dramatic, made noon look like twilight, and added some very nice spot lighting. He’s going to post a how-to on Photographymentor.com. I really want to see it, but Photographymentor costs $105 for six months. If I’m going to spend that kind of money, I’ll buy the new Colorshift actions from Jesh de Rox. (Not that I’m knocking it, from what I hear PM is a great resource.)
But I’m not too worried. I think I can reverse engineer the process. I’m going to try today or tomorrow. Not with people (too cold), but something else. A car or a playground.
In other news, I’m also working on a new set of ps actions.
